Plot

Elaine, Jerry and George decide to buy a massage chair for their friend Joe Mayo but when Elaine suggests Bloomingdale's, George says he will take responsibility to find a cheaper one. Kramer and Newman reverse the peepholes on their apartment doors. Jerry mocks George for having an overstuffed wallet that is so thick it gives him back pain. Elaine is embarrassed by David Puddy's fur coat. Jerry is frustrated when his girlfriend always makes him hold some of her things.

To save money, George buys a chair from Delaware but it doesn't arrive in time so they go to Joe Mayo's party without it. At the party Elaine secretly throws Puddy's fur coat out the window but she actually throws out Joe Mayo's coat by mistake. When he finds out Joe Mayo demands Elaine buy him a new coat. The massage chair is delivered to George by mistake but when he discovers how good it feels, he keeps it for himself and pretends it never arrived.

When Jerry complains about having to carry around his girlfriend's things, so Elaine gives him a "European carry all", which he thinks looks like a purse. Meanwhile, Newman finds Puddy's fur coat in a tree and deftly climbs up to get it (using expert climbing skills he apparently learned in the Pacific Northwest). But later, the building landlord, Silvio (Jon Polito), spots the fur coat inside Newman's apartment by looking through the reverse peephole. Silvio thinks it's his wife's coat and threatens to evict Newman for having an affair with her. To save Newman, Kramer pretends the fur coat is actually Jerry's (because he is an "entertainer desperate for attention").

Elaine and Jerry back out of participating in their chair gift for Joe Mayo because they are annoyed at him (Elaine, because he demanded she buy him a new coat and Jerry, because Joe Mayo criticized his taste in music). They ask George to cancel the order but he reveals he has already been using the chair at his house. George says he will just return it, but loses the receipt when it falls out of his overstuffed wallet and blows away.

To support their lie that the fur coat was Jerry's, Kramer and Newman ask Jerry to wear it in front of Silvio. When Jerry struts in front of Silvio with his fur coat and "male purse", it appears Silvio believes him until Elaine walks up and asks why Jerry is wearing Joe Mayo's coat. Silvio then plots revenge on Joe Mayo instead. Shortly thereafter, a thief purse snatches Jerry's bag and he forced to reveal to yell out in public that somebody stole his "purse".

In the final scene, Puddy tells Elaine he won't wear his fur coat anymore and instead has bought a garish leather jacket featuring an 8-Ball on the sleeves and back, making Elaine upset again.
